Data and modelling limitations
Parts of the dataset are reconstructed or approximated, particularly for earlier decades, and may contain errors. Exchange-rate and index values are monthly, which hides moves within the month. The model excludes fees, spreads, personal income tax, capital gains tax and account-specific rules, except for a simple estimated drag for U.S. dividend withholding in a TFSA. Real-life outcomes are likely to differ from what is shown.
